Sari, hindi ko alam kung sang-ayon ako tungkol kay Marcos dahil iyon ay paksang kalayaan. It may very well be so that RP was prosperous during his reign. Gayunman, the trade-off of liberty for prosperity is unacceptable sa akin. Maliwanag iyan Marcos abused his power. There is no indication that Gordon would do likewise. After all, he did oppose Gloria Arroyo's declaration of martial law sa Maguindanao dahil sa unconstitutionality. He even understood the deleterious effects of Corazon Aquino's 1987 Constitution, yet he still swore to protect and defend it because he respects the rule of law.

Most of Gordon's opponents on this blog were advocates of Brother Eddie. Their religious fanaticism clouded their reasoning faculties. Kaya nga I did not make much of an effort to persuade them.

Sa kasamaang-palad, tapos na ang takbo ni Gordon para sa pangulo, nguni't ngayon si Gordon ay magkakandidato sa pagka-senador. Samakatuwid, Sari, we can still give him a position in which he can continue to serve the country, hindi ba?

Ito ang bagong blog para sa kanyang takbo sa Senado:

Marcial, since you have presented your blog with a very effective analogy, let me begin and end it the same way, Presidents, like any other leaders, are like fine wines and age with time. The truth is that good presidents should be most loved and remembered once they leave the political fray. It is important that their terms and legacies are marked by the milestones that made this nation great and respected. In my own point of view, Philippines is quite unfortunate to have produced only one great president through time and that is President Ferdinand Marcos. None among the nine presidents that came before him nor the five presidents that came thereafter has matched his leadership, no one even comes close. His track records and accomplishments are unprecedented. Indeed, he is the finest wine we, Filipinos, have had. We could have had another one but, tough luck, he never made it in the 2010 presidential election. I look at Senator Richard Gordon not just as a great leader but also as a noble and an honorable father and a gentleman. I could not agree well enough on your presentation of his qualifications and achievements. Given the chance to lead and be that Driver F of this once so great nation, I bet, he’ll bring back the glory that was once ours. He will surely not allow the shame that has thrown us into the deep end. Had we, Filipinos, been very critical and intelligent voters, then we should have redeemed ourselves, way back then. Greatness in Presidency is rare. Greatness in any dimension of the human endeavor is rare and we could have almost grasped it, but just let such greatness slipped away. Greatness is such a big word, we use it often but we don’t really understand what it is. In fact we emptied it. We made it synonymous to entertainment, to popularity, to appearance and to affiliation..we forgot that it is all about selfless giving and sacrifice with great deal of wisdom and intellect. Thus made us a lost nation…needless to say, Gordon’s haters on this blog are epitome of the lost pack. We could have had some one who will lead us to become our better and greater selves but we choose to sit indolently and scatterbrained in mediocrity. Such an ill fate, Senator Richard Gordon, is our greatest president, our finest wine, we couldn’t have….just yet!

Thank you Marcial for the enlightenment. Your blogs are truly empowering!
