Joe, my friend, I appreciate your concern for our needy. Even Cruz supports a plan for those people with pre-existing conditions. He just does not support the Obamacare version. On entitlements like social security, Cruz and Republicans simply would raise the beneficiary age higher, since people are living longer. It is a reasonable and partial remedy for resolving the federal deficit and pacifying those who have paid into the social security system. Therefore, your claims are strawmen.

We step over homeless veterans while Cruz votes to leave millions more uninsured, eliminate protections for preexisting conditions like PTSD, kill millions of US healthcare jobs in healthcare and more Americans than the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. If reelected Cruz will vote to cut Social Security, Medicaid and Medicare. But if I see Cruz as a heartless snake, that's what he is for a living and the fact that he and politicians like him haven't been forced from office forces me to accept many would sacrifice their own health and security simply to see others suffer. As Martin Luther King's widow said, "This is a sick society".

Lack of insurance leads to tens of thousands of deaths annually. If any of the various GOP health bills Cruz voted for became law, millions of Americans would lose coverage and the number of preventable deaths would increase dramatically. The "Better Care Reconciliation Act," for example, would result in 22 million people losing coverage and an additional 29,000 deaths per year.
